Get Involved at Quarry Road

Friends of Quarry Road is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen greater Waterville by developing exceptional opportunities for four-season outdoor recreation.

We envision Quarry Road as the region’s hub of active outdoor recreation, enhancing the physical, social, and economic well-being of our community.

Friends of Quarry Road works in partnership with the City of Waterville to develop Quarry Road Trails into a premier four season outdoor recreation area, by providing guidance, raising capital and assisting in its operations, upkeep and oversight.

We would love for you to join us in our efforts. There are many ways that you can help:

VOLUNTEER

Waterville Parks & Rec and Friends of Quarry Road work closely with a number of local organizations to provide quality programs and events at Quarry Road Trails throughout the year. Our partners include the Quarry Road Ski Club, Central Maine Striders, CeMeNEMBA, the Children’s Discovery Museum, and other volunteer groups.

Ski lessons . . . Winter Carnival . . . biathlon events . . . nordic ski races . . . the summer race series . . . bike programs . . . summer camps . . . none of it would happen without the initiative and dedication of community volunteers.

Join in the fun in a way that fits your interests and schedule and enjoy the rewards of volunteering by helping in one of these ways:

  • Become an instructor for the youth ski program

  • Assist with events (check our calendar for upcoming opportunities) or organize your own.

  • Be a trail ambassador

  • Help staff the Welcome Center

  • Join the snowmaking crew

  • Promote Quarry Road Trails, programs and events.

  • Plan for additional facilities and programs.
